Sarah Tupica Berard graduated from the University of Michigan in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts in cultural anthropology. She earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Detroit Mercy in 2007. While in law school, Ms. Berard served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Michael James Callahan in the Third Circuit Court.

Ms. Berard was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan in 2007. 

In 2010 and 2011, Ms. Berard was named a “Rising Star” by Michigan Super Lawyers in the practice areas of Medical Malpractice and Insurance Defense. In 2012, she was selected to serve on the newly-formed Patient and Family Advisory Board (PFAB) at the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center. The PFAB is a partnership of patients, family members, healthcare providers and the community that works to ensure the highest quality of patient and family centered care at UMCCC. Ms. Berard was also elected as the PFAB Nominations and Governance Officer. Ms. Berard served as an active member of PFAB until the expiration of her term in 2016 and currently serves as an e-advisor.

Ms. Berard’s practice focuses on civil litigation, concentrating specifically on personal injury and medical malpractice defense.
